Founding Partners and Sponsors

Founded in 2000, the Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation (Quality Corp) is a non-profit partnership managed by a balanced Board of Directors, including senior representatives from physician groups, health plans, employers, hospitals, consumer groups, and policymakers. Our mission is to improve health care in Oregon through collaboration. The Quality Corp launched the Partner for Quality Care: Information for a Healthy Oregon initiative, which embraces a three-pronged approach to improving health care:

  • Measure the quality of health care
  • Help practitioners use quality measurement information to improve systems of care
  • Help the public understand what quality health care is and their role in contributing to it

The work of the Quality Corp is recognized nationally. The Quality Corp received the Chartered Value Exchange (CVE) designation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2008 in recognition of the organization's leadership to improve care in Oregon. In 2007, the Quality Corp became one of 15 organizations nationwide to be awarded a grant from Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q), a program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's signature effort to lift the overall quality of health care in targeted communities, reduce racial and ethnic disparities and provide models for national reform. Quality Corp is also a member of the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement, a national coalition of regional health improvement alliances that are working to improve the quality and value of healthcare delivery in the U.S.

Our materials with consumer tips for quality care were developed in partnership with Jeanne McGee and Mark Evers, McGee & Evers Consulting, Inc. (Some parts of these materials were adapted from resources in the Communication Toolkit: Using information to get high quality care. The American Institutes for Research developed the Toolkit materials in collaboration with McGee & Evers Consulting, Inc., with funding from the California HealthCare Foundation. The National Business Group on Health maintains and hosts the Toolkit website.) In addition, McGee & Evers Consulting assisted with development of web site text and consumer testing.

We extend special thanks to the Regence Foundation for their support of the Partner for Quality Care: Information for a Healthy Oregon website.

Our web site development partner for this project is Squishymedia.
